Google is being sued for tracking users even when they’re browsing in incognito mode according to Business Insiders, invading the privacy of millions of Americans.
The complaint seeks at least US$5,000 in damages for each of millions of Google users who have been browsing the Internet in private mode since June 1, 2016, taking it to a whopping $5 billion lawsuit.
According to Tech News World, Jose Castenada, Google’s spokesperson said “Google strongly disputes these claims and will defend ourselves vigorously against them, Incognito mode in Chrome gives you the choice to browse the Internet without your activity being saved to your browser or device.”
This lawsuit covers only for Americans and new lawsuits around the world will probably be filed soon as well.
