Does Private Whois Domain Name Data Impact Ranking?
When registering a new domain, the domain registrar (such as Namecheap) system is asking if the domain owner information should be public (open for all) or private (hidden).
When selected private, doing a Whois search, instead of the owner information, you would find the registrar information.
For many years, marketers assumed that by putting a domain in a private status, may impact the website ranking with the search engines.
According to Google’s John Mueller, having a private whois domain name registration status, does not change how Google search engine view and trust the website and it doesn’t impact the website’s ranking with in the SERP.
